Job Overview: Legal Consultant in WB Police:

Salary and Benefits:
- Fixed Monthly Remuneration: ₹30,000
- No other allowances are applicable
- Up to 14 days of paid leave (besides government holidays)
Eligibility Criteria for Legal Consultant Post:
- Law Graduate from a recognized university
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in handling criminal or service-related cases
Key Responsibilities & Nature of Work:
- Review legal applications, writ petitions, and court orders.
- Prepare and edit replies, circulars, review petitions, and legal opinions.
- Create legal documents needed for internal use by the department.
- Visit the High Court, Green Tribunal, CAT, or WBAT to assist officials when required.
- Study Supreme Court and High Court judgments and give advice on what legal steps to take next.
Contract Terms and Conditions:
- Position is strictly contractual
- Consultant must sign a confidentiality agreement
- No legal representation of handled cases post-contract
- Department can terminate with 1-month notice
- Breach of contract leads to termination and blacklisting
