Notification Date: The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) released the official notification for the Stenographer Grade 'C' and 'D' Examination, 2025 on June 6, 2025.
Application Period: Candidates can apply online from June 6 to June 26, 2025, through the official website ssc.gov.in.
Eligibility: Applicants must have passed the 12th (Higher Secondary) examination from a recognized board by August 1, 2025.
Age Limit: For Grade C – 18 to 30 years; for Grade D – 18 to 27 years. Age relaxation is applicable as per government rules.
Vacancies: A total of 261 posts have been announced (tentative) under various Central Government Ministries and Departments.
Salary Details:
- Stenographer Grade C: Pay Level 6 (₹35,400 – ₹1,12,400) as per 7th CPC.
- Stenographer Grade D: Pay Level 4 (₹25,500 – ₹81,100) as per 7th CPC.
Exam Mode: The recruitment will be conducted through a Computer-Based Test (CBT) followed by a skill test in stenography.
Syllabus: The CBT will have questions from General Intelligence & Reasoning, General Awareness, and English Language & Comprehension – total 200 marks.
Exam Date: The CBT is scheduled to be held from August 6 to August 11, 2025, across India.
Application Fee: ₹100 for General and OBC category. Women, SC/ST, PwBD, and Ex-Servicemen candidates are exempted.
Correction Window: Application corrections can be made on July 1 and 2, 2025 with a correction fee.
