Job Description:
- Head the National Museum, India’s premier cultural institution.
- Oversee the museum’s operations, administration, conservation, exhibitions, and outreach programs.
- Coordinate with the Ministry of Culture on policies and initiatives.

Eligibility Criteria (Deputation):
- Officers from Central/State Governments, UTs, PSUs, Universities, Research Institutions, Semi-Government or Autonomous Organizations.
- Holding analogous posts on regular basis in the parent cadre; OR
- With 3 years of regular service in Level-14 (Pre-revised PB-4: Rs. 37,400–67,000 + GP Rs. 10,000).
- Master’s degree in Museology, History of Art, History, Sanskrit, Pali, Prakrit, Persian, Arabic, Archaeology, Anthropology, Fine Arts, or Chemistry.
- 15 years of experience in the above fields (including research), with 5 years in administration.
- Desirable: Bachelor's degree in Management.
- Maximum age: 56 years as on the closing date.

Eligibility Criteria (Contract):
- Same qualifications and experience as required for deputation.
- Contract Tenure: 3 years, extendable based on performance.
- Maximum age: 67 years as on the closing date (extendable up to 70 based on performance).
- Terms and conditions same as Group ‘A’ Central Government officer holding analogous post.
